Directions to Short House, Labour-in-Vain Lane, West Bexington, Dorset DT2 9DE:

From London/South East follow M3 south. Take M27 to Southampton Docks / Bournemouth. Follow M27 west, merging into the A31.

Continue to Dorchester via the A35.

Keep on the A35 Dorchester Ring Road following the signs to “Bridport”

In the 3 miles beyond Dorchester go past the signs that just say “Martinstown”. As you come down a steep hill, just before Winterbourne Abbass, take the left turning off the A35 signed “Winterbourne Steepleton, Martinstown, Portesham”.

About 100 yards down the hill, at the T junction, turn right and then immediately left, signed to “Portesham”.

In Portesham turn right, signed to “Abbotsbury” on the B3157.

In Abbotsbury turn right signed to “Swyre, Burton Bradstock & Bridport”.

3 miles on is a pub “The Bull Inn” on the right. Take the sharp left turn opposite the pub signed “West Bexington”

After 1 mile, just after the phone box on the left, the road turns to the right. At that junction take a 45-degree turn left (not the sharp left turn), into Labour-in-Vain Lane; marked with a sign: 'Private Road, No Car Access to Beach' - see photo on this page.

About three quarters of a mile along the lane, Long House/Short House are accessed from the third entrance on the right. By the gates at the top of the drive is a stone in the ground with the main house name; Long House and a sign on the gate itself.

Arriving by helicopter (Yep, there are people who've done that!), the coordinates are: LATITUDE: 50.67373. LONGiTUDE: -2.649898.  The landing pad is just to the north of the tennis court. There are no overhead cables nearby.
